Time Has Almost Come

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 30, 2013, 10:22 AM
This has been a (slightly) more productive month for me, though there's been nothing in the way of actually drawing. It'll come.

Oddly, I've gotten 6 new watchers this month, seemingly randomly - welcome to you guys, if you're reading this!

Which brings me to the issue of my username. I have been sick of "Pyro-Sith" for some time now. According to the poll I put up, the winning name is "Retro-Specs", but not by much. I figure that name will work. Originally it referred to the glasses I where, but it also could stand for "specifications", which will work well when I'm doing videos and "let's plays" in the future. So I could just go with it, but what do you guys think?

See, there hasn't been a new vote on that poll in weeks, but there's been only 18 votes. Of some of the new watchers, and any regulars that didn't vote...  which do you pick? I want to settle on a new name soon and get it overwith. It's one of those things that you feel like getting out of the way.

It's been an eventful week so far, especially with my wife having dental surgery. Days are still rather dreary and dark around here, so we're kind of tired all the time.

How are things for all you guys?

You'll have to forgive me for not voting-- none of the names struck my fancy completely and besides (and more importantly XD) I feel I have no business suggesting a name for you, even if you ARE asking for advice. =p It's gotta speak for YOU, after all.

That said, now that you've pointed out the double entendre I do kind of like Retro-Specs. Just as Fairy admitted, however, I feel I may be calling you Pyro for a long, long time to come out of habit.

You did not vote? Ah, but I understand. I do realize it would be awfully weird if someone I know on dA - such as yourself - changed their name to something drastically different. That being said, I never liked my dA name. I chose it quickly, trying to match my old email address from college - "pyrosheep" - but that was taken. Then I left the account dormant for about a year. I should have just made a new one with a better name, but I uploaded a bunch of Mario-themed art one time, gained a bunch of watchers and friends, and just rolled with it, regardless of the name I disliked.

I think I'm convinced, everyone seems to think this name works best.

For some reason, I thought you had once been called Pyro-sheep... hrm.

Well, not on dA, technically. I am sick of both names, anyway...

Ooh, Mega Man! Retro-specs would be good. Wouldn't be unhappy with that.

It's been cold a lot, with a bit of exception (today was in the 60s or so, but it's supposed to be in the 30s in a day or two). Looking forward to warmer weather and longer days.

Today has been pretty good as far as how I feel. I can use more days like today. :)

Yup! I always liked the Snake Man stage, so I figured I'd use it. Look any good?

I may just be picking that one, it is winning after all.

Today is exceptionally warm here, for January. Getting rain in the air, and the roads and sidewalks are dangerously slippery.

It does, yes. :)

I hope that slipperiness has cleared up.

It has, actually! We just got back from a walk through one of the biggest parks in town, and the snow was not bad. Roads are much better for driving now, too.

Good. A big park, huh? Sounds like a nice time. :)

Eh, it's nice enough. Our city doesn't have the best parks around, but good enough.
